It’s been a pretty amazing year for the auto industry, but MINI especially has quite a bit to celebrate. Thanks to its outstanding December sales, MINI holds onto the luxury sales crown in the United States.

Let’s take a look at the outstanding month of sales that helped MINI maintain it’s No. 1 status. Last month, MINI reported its best ever December sales. It sold 6,456 cars, an increase of 13 percent from 2011.

As Countryman MINI Winter Parkdrivers know, this marks the seventh consecutive month of record sales for MINI. It is also its ninth “best month” of 2012. See what I mean about 2012 being a great year for MINI?

For the year, the automaker’s U.S. Sales are up 15 percent compared to all the vehicles sold in 2011. That makes 2012 the brand’s best year ever in the states.

At Fields Orlando MINI, we agree with Jim McDowell, VP of MINI USA. “The world is becoming more MINI and the record 2012 sales is the perfect conclusion to our 10th anniversary year in the U.S.” McDowell added that the brand has “a great year ahead.”

We don’t doubt it. MINI has proven itself to be an agile, adaptable brand that’s always quick to meet the evolving needs of its fans. It has a growing dealer network and roster of vehicles. Both of these things will be vital for the automaker’s continued growth in 2013.

After a year like 2012, we cannot wait to see what MINI has in store for us in 2013.
