After you bring a pre-owned car home, it’s important to learn how to consistently care for it with the following maintenance work.
Oil Change
Modern MINI vehicles require inspections every 3,000 miles or three months, whichever comes first. To reiterate, this is just an inspection and not necessarily an oil change unless the technician deems one necessary.
You should also inspect the oil dipstick at least once a month. If the oil appears especially dark and thick, then you may need an oil change before the recommended interval.
Brake Inspection
Get your brakes inspected during every routine maintenance appointment. On most MINI models, the brake pads need to be replaced every 35,000 to 50,000 miles, while the rotors need to be replaced every 40,000 to 90,000 miles. Generally, the rotors last twice as long as the pads.
