John Newton Cooper was a famous race car driver in Great Britain as well as an automotive designer. Some of his designs have had a lasting impact on Indy-Series and Formula One racing globally.
Cooper first built cars with his father, Charles, and the two created the Cooper Car Company, where they first launched their first MINI models. After having some success with these first models, they created the British Motor Corporation MINI. While John Cooper passed away in 2000, his name carries on. His son Michael established John Cooper Works, a British-based company that produces accessories and parts for MINI Cooper models in 2008.
