The new 2016 MINI Clubman is fast becoming one of the biggest sellers for the MINI brand. A recent meeting on April 1 with US dealers and the manufacturer determined that the MINI Clubman is on its way to the bestseller category. According to Michael Vadasz, the Chairman of the MINI brand’s dealer council, many models are customizable, which is making the pace that much more difficult to keep up with. U.S. dealers sold nearly 1,695 MINI Clubman models in the first quarter of 2016 with 1,037 of those (61%) in March alone.
The MINI Clubman recorded an increase in demand in March which indicates that drivers are eager to own a more spacious version of the typical MINI car. David Duncan, Vice President of MINI says that “we see that as a fast growing segment so having an entry in there gives us that opportunity. When you look at the car itself, it has a premiumness about it that takes it to the next level and allows us to compete against brands that we weren’t typically competing against.”
MINI launched the new MINI Clubman at the beginning of the year and is about to launch a new convertible. A new John Cooper Works model is also expected in the next few months.
